Day 1: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be met and assisted. After going through immigration, baggage claim, and customs, transfer to the Four Points by Sheraton, The Arusha Hotel to stay overnight on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up at 8:30 am by your guide from your hotel in Arusha. After an approximately 2-hour drive, you will reach Tarangire National Park. As you enter the park, your guide will open the roof for a better viewing experience. Tarangire is home to the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania. Giraffes, buffaloes, lions, zebras, wildebeests, as well as various antelopes and gazelles, can also be spotted here. The landscape is characterized by seasonal marshes and a seemingly endless tree savannah with mighty baobab trees. After extensive game drives in the park, you will stay overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge on a full board basis.
Tarangire Night Game Drive
At 8:00 pm, after the sun has set and evening has fallen, the night game drive will begin. The night game drive offers a unique and exciting opportunity to encounter nocturnal animals that are hidden during the daytime. A night game drive gives your safari a completely different twist as you see all the nocturnal animals that you may not see during the day. These animals now appear with eyes lighting up in the darkness when the headlights of the safari jeep meet them. Your guide will tell you all about these nocturnal creatures and help you spot species such as porcupines, civet cats, genets, bush babies, lions, and leopards.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Serengeti National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. Grass steppes and acacia forests are home to almost all the species of animals found in the East African savannah. In just a few hours, you'll have the chance to spot the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard). After extensive game viewing and a picnic in the crater, you will leave the highlands of Ngorongoro in the afternoon and continue to Serengeti National Park. Soon, you will see the seemingly endless plains of southern Serengeti and finally reach the Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti. You'll be staying at the stunning Embalakai Luxury Tented Camp on a full board basis.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
These two days are dedicated to game viewing in Serengeti National Park. Your guide will take you to the best spots to observe wildlife. Elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, topi, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, and many more can be seen in this vast national park. Especially in the Seronera Valley, you will experience fantastic game viewing all year round. The Serengeti, together with the Maasai Mara in Kenya, is home to the largest animal migration on the planet. You will enjoy overnight stays at Embalakai Luxury Tented Camp on a full board basis.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Manyara Area:
Wake up at 06:00 AM to have a cup of hot coffee, then go for an early morning game drive. This morning game drive is crucial as you may witness the early morning kills from the Big Five if you are lucky. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast. Your guide will continue with game drives en route to the Karatu area. Your overnight stay will be at Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge on a full board basis.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park – Drive Back to Arusha:
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive exploring the park. It is said to be the "loveliest lake in Africa". Lake Manyara covers 127 sq miles (329 sq km) of Lake Manyara National Park. The lake's alkaline waters cover approximately 89 sq miles (231 sq km). It is famous for a large number of baboons and birdlife, and is home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffaloes, warthogs, and giraffes. It is also known for giant fig trees and mahogany seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gates. Afterward, you will drive back to Arusha and stay overnight at Four Points by Sheraton, The Arusha Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 7: Airport Departure Transfer
After breakfast, you will be provided with a private departure transfer to Arusha Airport/ Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight to Zanzibar Island or your flight back home!
