I grew up in Uganda and returned to work there for a while after university in the UK. My wife had visited several African countries, but not Uganda and so, now retired, we decided to take a tour to visit game parks as well as my old haunts. We approached several Ugandan tour operators and 1000 Shades immediately stood out as flexible and understanding our specifuc needs, Our tour was just wonderful, successful in every way. We found my old houses in Kampala, Masindi, Fort Portal and Mbale plus, after an interesting search, my grandmother's grave in Masindi (headstone still extant from 1952!). The game parks - especially Kidepo - were terrific, plus the chimpanzee tracking, Lake Bunyonyi and Mbale/Sipi also.
We got personalized service from the President of 1000 Shades - with serendipity, we had actually met him here in Montreal before we travelled. And our "driver" was a gem. He was just great, an extremely knowledgeable guide as well as a fine driver. We were able to discuss with him social and related issues about Uganda as well as learn about birds, mammals and vegetation. He was also very flexible in attending to our particular interests.
We recommend 1000 Shades without hesitation. And Uganda warrants much higher rating and publicity on the African (and world) tourism agenda.
1000 Shades of Green made our experience in Uganda incredible. Charles, our guide, is knowledgeable all the way from wildlife to social and geographical information. We were completely accommodated for, well beyond what I had in mind. Charles, Morgan, and everyone else at 100 Shades of Green could not be greater people. When I come back I will most definitely go through this business again.
We had a great experience with the 1000 Shades of Green tour company for our visit to Rwanda and Uganda. From the moment we landed in Rwanda our guide meet us and guided us expertly throughout the journey. We found our guide to be very knowledge and friendly and enjoyed having him show us the countries.
Never could have expected more, all wildlife photography I was looking for in Uganda was assured thanks to the expertise of 1000 Shades and the interest and excellence of Mr. Owinji Milton, our driver, and guide. I got amazing photos of gorillas and chimpanzees which were my main target in Uganda. Summing up, excellent and safe safari in Uganda thanks to 1000 Shades of Green
1000 Shades of Green exceeded our expectations. We recently returned from a 7-day safari with 1000 Shades of Green. My daughter is serving with the Peace Corps in Uganda so we went to meet her and travel around to see some of the country and myself, husband and four children, ages 20 to 25. Our trip was amazing. I can't say enough good things about this company. Our guide Medi was outstanding!! He was extremely knowledgeable, organized, attentive. He really went the extra mile to make our trip stress free. We saw so much wildlife. Medi knew everything, birds, animals, history, and culture.
